The Ostrogoth king defeats Odoacer once more
The Ostrogoths under Theoderic the Great defeated the forces of Odoacer for the second time, advancing their campaign to conquer Italy. Theoderic, sent by the Byzantine emperor to reclaim the peninsula, was proving an unstoppable force. Within years, he would establish the Ostrogothic Kingdom, ruling Italy with Roman administrative skill and Gothic military might.
